MS-130 Description

MS-130U

Dyacon MS‑130U™ is a variant of our most popular weather station configuration. MS-130U use our new ultrasonic anemometer in addition to other basic instruments. The configuration is solar powered and has an embedded cell phone for fully autonomous operation. MS-130U is an ideal station for small airports, heliports, basic industrial users, and routine research applications.

Customizable

MS‑130U™ includes a control module (data logger), ultrasonic wind sensor, temperature-pressure-humidity sensor, solar power module, embedded cell phone, and mounting hardware. Rain gauge, solar sensor, and soil moisture sensors may be added.

Connected

MS‑130U™ supports both wired and wireless connections. The embedded cell phone uploads to DyaconLive and Weather Underground®. The Modbus RTU port connects to computers and automation control systems. SMS text message weather reports are available for aviation, grower, industrial safety, and research users. The user simply sends a text message and the weather station responds with the requested report.

Installation

MS‑130U™ is easy to configure and install. It can be located for optimal measurements, whether in the backyard, at a summer cabin, around evaporation ponds, or on a remote airplane landing strip. No programming or specialized skills required.
Add Dyacon Tripod-1 for permanent or portable installations.

Key Features

Basic Configuration

MS‑130U™ is shipped with a control module, ultrasonic wind sensor (UA‑1), air sensor (TPH‑1), solar module, mounting brackets, air sensor pipe, and wires. The tripod and aspiration kit are optional add-ons and are purchased separately.

Construction

The MS-130U Weather Station uses Dyacon modules to build a solution that is unique, expandable, and flexible.

Brackets and hardware are included for mounting the components 3/4” to 2” pipe or a flat surface. The UA-1 anemometer mounts onto a 3/4″ pipe. (Tripod-1 is sold separately.)

The modular wind and air sensors allow for instruments to be positioned at conventional elevations or as required by the application.

Wireless

The included Dyacon control module utilizes a cellular phone module for command and control as well as for user reports. A WiFi version is also available.

Barometric Pressure

A 24‑bit ADC digital pressure sensor has the capability of delivering 10 cm (+/- 1.5 mbar) resolution. Barometric pressure is contained in the TPH‑1 sensor.

Wired Data

The control module is equipped with both USB device for device configuration. The Modbus RTU slave port allows MS-130U to connect to data-hosting equipment, such as PCs or programmable logic controllers (PLCs), building automation systems (BAS), and similar devices.

Solar Power

A 10 W solar module powers the MS‑130U and charges an internal battery. The system is designed to go five days of normal operation without solar input. An adaptive power algorithm extends critical operation for several more days.

Installation

MS-130U Weather Stations are designed to be installed and maintained by the user. Sensors shipped with the unit are preconfigured and tested prior to shipment. Full instructions and videos are provided so that setup can be done by the user without technical support.

Accessories

MS‑130U includes a 12 V output for the Smart-Fan aspirated air sensor, which improves the temperature accuracy in sunny conditions.
