Dyacon MS‑120TM is a wire‑connected weather (meteorological) station.

MS‑120 can serve as a data logger or be wired to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) through the Modbus slave port. It can also be connected to a personal computer with a simple Modbus-to-USB converter. (More about Modbus.) A USB device port provides an interface for configuration and data log retrieval.

MS‑120 comes preconfigured for easy setup; no programming is required. The weather station can be powered with 12 VDC to 24 VDC.

Options such as a rain gauge, solar sensor, and/or soil moisture sensor can be added at any time to meet the user’s changing needs.

Adding the Tripod-1 (optional add-on) to a Dyacon weather station will provide a simple and portable instrumentation platform.

Key Features

Basic Configuration
MS‑120TM is shipped with the control module, wind sensor (WSD‑1), air sensor (TPH‑1), and mounting hardware suitable for mounting onto a pole or flat surface.

MS‑120 includes a Modbus RS‑485 slave port. The robust characteristics of RS‑485 allow for long cable runs. CAT‑5 cable is an excellent choice for cable runs of over 1,000 ft (300 m).

Adding Dyacon Tripod‑1 (optional add-on) facilitates optimal weather station portability and installation flexibility.

Dyacon MS‑120 is unique, expandable, and flexible.

MS‑120 uses the same control module hardware (data logger) as other Dyacon MS‑1xx weather stations. As such, optional add-ons such as a rain gauge, solar sensor, soil moisture probe, and soil temperature probe are available at any time. The weather station can be converted to a solar-powered station with the addition of a solar module and battery, which can be installed in the field.

Brackets and hardware are included for mounting the components onto 3/4” to 2” pipe or a flat surface.

Separate wind and air sensors allow for instruments to be positioned at conventional elevations or as required by the application.

Wired Data
The control module is equipped with both a USB device and Modbus slave ports for connecting to data hosting equipment, such as PCs or programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Dyacon MS‑120 is designed to be easily installed and maintained by the user. All sensors shipped with the unit are preconfigured and tested prior to shipment. Full instructions are available to enable setup to be done by the user without technical support.

Weather station MS‑120 includes a 12 V output for the Smart-Fan aspirated air sensor, which improves temperature accuracy in sunny conditions. (Refer to the data sheet for a description of I/O and sensors.)
